A fast 4-ingredient recipe and a huge hit at our open house today at the shop!

1 package lemon cake mix

2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed (one container)

1 egg

1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted

Grease cookie sheets.  Combine egg, cake mix and whipped topping in large bowl.  Stir until well mixed.  Drop by teaspoon into powdered sugar; roll to coat.  Place 1 1/2″ apart on cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.  Remove from cookie sheet; cool.

Tell Someone Today Just How Lovely They Really Are

Texas Rangers October 1956

Part of a stack of very beat-up vintage magazines I picked up at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago…..most will end up in art projects since they are so tattered.

The 1st great Glitter Pick of the season

It’s very exciting to finally be able to go out and pick again…while estate sales and garage sales are few and far between this time of year…the picking urge draws me out to see what treasures I can find!  Even though the crowds at the better advertised sales are huge…I can still dig and find amazing vintage goodies.

Look at this glorious old house I had the privilege to explore!  Listed on the National Registry…this beauty was out in the countryside beyond Oregon City.

I found fifteen pairs of vintage earrings….funky and fabulous!  She must have had a thing for orange…and check out the owl earrings on the left!

These rather wicked looking things are vintage office paper picks…I don’t know the right term for them but I know they were used to stick paperwork onto!  They have a lovely green metal base.  There were five of them. They must have had a lot of paper to stick!  I grabbed 2 of them while another woman grabbed the other 3 at the same time.  It turned out to be my friend Sue, who owns Simple Folk, a charming shop in Milwaukie, Oregon.

But best of all were these vintage Christmas cards..UNUSED…in a great big bag!  I will be selling them later in the year but I will scan them and share the images too.
